Bipolar Believer

fiftymillionmiles:

In honor of sixteen innocent Afghan lives taken in a brutal act that we may never understand. God willing peace will one day come to that nation. Until then we can only keep raising our voices for them.

My Future Boy

The petty ones aren’t so much necessary as just nice little extra perks

Stars are a must.

My future boy must

  1. ***Be strong in faith.  Somebody who can help guide me in life.  Somebody who can and will hold me accountable.
  2. Like to read.  Books of any and all kinds.  Poetry would be a nice perk.
  3. Enjoy running and other physical activity.
  4. ***Be able to share and appreciate silence.  So many people talk just to fill silence, and sometimes you just need to be still and quiet.
  5. Have good spelling and grammar.  I can’t stand misspellings and incorrect grammar.
  6. Love animals.
  7. It would be really, really nice if he got me flowers.  I’ve never gotten them from a boy.  And I’ve always wanted to.  Not a necessity.  Just something that would be nice.
  8. ***Accept my mental illness not as the work of the devil, but rather something that I’ve been given to work through and learn from.
  9. ***Want to get married someday. Hopefully to me.
  10. ***Respect my views on having children/lack thereof.
  11. Like to cuddle.
  12. ***Hold me accountable, and want for me to do the same to him.
  13. ***Respect my boundaries in terms of physical contact.
  14. Not drink excessively, do drugs or smoke
Overall, I just want a Godly relationship.  I’ve been lacking in those.

Are these excessive?  Unrealistic?

“Toska”

Toska:

A Russian word that has no literal translation into any other language, Vladmir Nabokov describes it best: “No single word in English renders all the shades of toska. At its deepest and most painful, it is a sensation of great spiritual anguish, often without any specific cause. At less morbid levels it is a dull ache of the soul, a longing with nothing to long for, a sick pining, a vague restlessness, mental throes, yearning.”

He has showed you, O man, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

I love my dad.

I’ve been having a really hard time with a lot of things right now, in all areas of my life.  So far, for the past three days, I have woken up to a text message with a Bible verse for me to look up and read.  It’s such a fantastic start to my day.

Here I Am

Facebook wasn’t loading for me for a while, and I had this feeling that I should read my Bible.  So I did.  Funny how God seems to speak to me through whatever I read as completely applicable to the situation I’m in before I read.

I’m currently reading through the Old Testament, beginning to end.  I have just begun Exodus, reading through the story of Moses.  Here’s the thing: when God called to people in the Old Testament, they replied “Here I am.”

I highlight that phrase every time I read it.  But I am not always answering.  In fact, I’m rarely answering.  And I need to learn to answer.

Just a passing thought of tonight.

Always know who to call.

Ask God to break your heart for what breaks His, and when He does, don’t be surprised if He tells you to go do something about it.
